Trip Details

Night photography presents unique tour requirements different from the other tours we offer. Many of these, like the weather, are out of our control but are essential to success with capturing images of the night sky. As a result, we will not invoice for night tours until we can ensure we will go out for the evening. Ideally we would like to have a second night available for our guests as a backup date in case the weather does not cooperate with clear skies. Timing is also important as we need to work under little to no moonlight and when the core of the Milky Way is high enough in the sky for a long enough period of time in the evening. Therefore, these tours are only offered on certain dates from June to August.

Itinerary

Although all of our tours are custom, the night photography tours have a standard set of photography locations that work well for night skies. We have a collection of about eight locations where we can take guests depending on the date and phase of the moon. There are also opportunities to capture some of the celestial events on specific dates, like meteor showers and comets. Each tour will last about 4 to 5 hours with 3 or 4 stops during that tour. Start and end times depend on the phase of the moon. Tours can be booked for up to three people.
