Dawn and Richard will help you understand the unique aspects of wildlife photography, how to spot the animals in such a vast landscape and put you in the right place at the right time for stunning images of animals in their habitat.

Trip Details

Most wildlife become more active during the fringes of the day at dawn and dusk. Therefore, trips focused on wildlife viewing and photography will start or finish in the dark. These times of day, especially in the mornings, are cooler but that usually means more atmospheric conditions as well, a unique feature in wildlife imagery, so we will provide the proper guidance on how to dress and what to bring on your tour. Beyond the early mornings and late afternoons, other animals can be photographed throughout the day, including pikas, ground squirrels, birds and marmots.

Itinerary

All tours are custom and do not follow a pre-determined itinerary. Prior to your tour, we will send you an outline of where we will go during the tour, but especially with wildlife, it all depends on where they want to be. Because of our familiarity with the park, we know where to look for what animals and when so we will plan the tour around your goals on which animals you want to make priority and then plan accordingly depending on the time of year.
